Ava is our $500.00 rescued stray!!! My friend Wendy and I were out riding our horses one afternoon and we found an 8 week old kitten that ran up to our horses!!! After placing the kitten in her shirt, Wendy and I finished our trailride and headed back to the barn. After discussing what to do with the kitten, it was agreed that I would take the kitten to my vets' and get her health checked out and see how she fitted in with our other cats and dogs. I named her Ava and took her to the vets' and started her on her vaccines, flea treatment and ear mite treatment. All went well except for her left ear, which didn't want to heal. So back to the vet's we went for minor surgery; we thought she had a polyp inside her ear. Well, they tried to pull it out in pieces and sent her back home with meds, etc. After a few days it was apparent that there was more needing to be done; poor little kitty!!! So after a major surgery; where it was discovered that she had no eardrum in her left ear, we got rid of the infection entirely and her ear healed successfully!!! She is a beautiful cat with a wonderful personality and loves to be brushed. We are so happy that she is part of our family!!! As you can see from the picture below; Ava's favorite hangout is our front window looking at the birds and squirrels!!!
