I had rescued a litter of kittens; in 1996, from a farm that the owner euthanizes unwanted and excess cats. I was able to find loving homes for all but two of the females. When I took the two sisters to my vets' for health checkups and to start their vaccines, it was found that Kinky; named for 2 kinks in her tail, has a severe heart murmer. The other sister; who is named Towanda, was perfectly healthy. I was told that Kinky would probably not live to a ripe old age due to her heart murmer, so I decided to keep her rather than giving her to someone else. I also thought that she would probably live longer if we also kept her sister!!! What logic!!! So both sisters received their names and a forever home with us! Well, Kinky has survived and is still a playful and robust cat in 2006!!! Her sister is also still with us as you can see on the next page!! It just goes to show what love and good nutrition can accomplish sometimes!!!
